Hampstead Extension

Living Space and Basement in Hampstead

The client required a contemporary two-storey extension to their period Victorian house in Hampstead. The home sits on a steep slope, allowing us to create a half-basement with doors leading into the garden.

The extension preserved original features, such as the original bay, which was retained and incorporated into the living room rather than demolished. Internal London Stock brick, along with large expanses of glass, developed the contemporary aesthetic. Double-height voids and roof lights were implemented to create vistas of the garden’s natural elements and the existing house features, such as the chimney.

The client is delighted; the additional area has finished the house exceptionally well.
